Gordon Cairns, executive director
Gordon's past experiences in business have shown him the significant impact an excellent or disastrous appointment can have on an organisation. His aim is to ensure that his clients make excellent appointments every time. Sir Bill Gammell of Cairn Energy says of Gordon, "he is an extremely tenacious individual who has real insight into people".
Gordon graduated in Law from Edinburgh University and later trained as a Chartered Accountant with Thomson McLintock, now KPMG. Aged 28, he was headhunted to lead the quoted Laidlaw Group's finance function, later becoming one of its Managing Directors. After a period at Quicks Group, he returned to Scotland to Cairn Energy (now FTSE 100), first as Head of Corporate Development, and then as Chief Financial Officer.
David Bond, executive director
David's aim is to work with integrity, diligence and discretion, to ensure that his clients feel their interaction with Cairns Bond has been a positive experience, with added value. Graham Reid, Finance Director of Cala Group says that in working with David, "he listens carefully to our recruitment needs and succeeds in fulfilling our requirements with excellent candidates on every occasion".
David trained with KPMG in England and was later seconded to their Nassau Office, working with clients in the US and Caribbean. On returning to Scotland, he joined Michael Page as a Consultant and then moved to head up ASA's Edinburgh Finance Recruitment Team. Before co-founding Cairns Bond, David was Regional Director for the listed Northern Recruitment Group PLC.
